Jewellers: Filigree | Christchurch, New Zealand.
At the time, my fiancé and I had gone to two other Christchurch based jewellers before we were recommended to go to Filigree. We had surprisingly negative experiences with the other jewellers, who failed to work with us to design a ring we wanted, using heirloom diamonds and rings. So when we shared our ideas with Filigree, we were super relieved they listened to us, worked along side us and told us what was possible with what we wanted to try and achieve. Importantly, they didn't try to make our ideas fit something they already had. They did a stunning job designing a bespoke ring for us.
Florist: Mrs Bottomleys Flowers | Christchurch, New Zealand.
You'll find Mrs Bottomleys Flowers by the banks of the Heathcote River within The Tannery (circa. 1874), a Victorian styled boutique shopping emporium. This homely, family operated, flower shop borrows it name from the owners grandmother. Their philosophy is simple: create breathtakingly beautiful, wild and whimsical florals. Mrs Bottomleys pride themselves on sourcing local seasonal flowers, and may be spotted gathering with the aid of a wheel barrow.
Venue: The Great Hall | Christchurch, New Zealand.
Located in the heart of Christchurch, directly opposite the botanical gardens, The Great Hall is a UNESCO heritage building offering warm wood tones accented by stunning neutral stonework. It's crowning feature is an impressive north-facing stained glass WWI memorial window (circa. 1938). Depending on your seating arrangement, it can host up to 250 guests, and can be booked for both your ceremony and reception. Following the exchanging of vows, hugs and kisses from all your uncles and aunties, guest can free roam the quaint courtyard or leg it over to explore the botanical gardens while we sneak off for the bridal party photos. You could even jump on the tram for a quick lap around the city. Too easy.
